Chile Beach House

Beach House, Chile, 2005

Chile | 2005

For a summer house that was in need of expansion and redesign, studioMDA designed a pool and deck addition that would complement the surrounding landscape along with a complete interior renovation. The new design blurs the dialogue between the landscape and the home’s interior. The walls of the bedrooms have been replaced with floor to ceiling windows, visually opening the interior of the rooms to the forest that is adjacent to the house. The new pool has been placed perpendicular to the central axis of the house, dividing the living functions in two parts. Replicating the floor to ceiling windows in the bedrooms, the far edge of the swimming pool seamlessly extends in to the trees.
