Soutine-Bacon Exhibition

Helly Nahmad Gallery, New York, 2011

New York | 2011

The Soutine-Bacon Exhibition, curated by the Helly Nahmad Gallery, was designed by studioMDA. The exhibition aims to represent the juxtaposition of work from Chaim Soutine and Francis Bacon. Completed in 2001, the exhibition is curated along the hypothesis that the work of Soutine served as a catalyst for Bacon’s artistic vision, necessitating a refined exhibition space to illustrate the coexistence of these artists. The existing windows throughout the gallery covered with panels intended to increase the quantity of exhibiting space by enabling the curator to position work from both artists side by side. The color of the walls compliment the color palette and hues used by the artists, as well as the existing gallery finishes. p The Soutine-Bacon Exhibition, curated by the Helly Nahmad Gallery, was designed by studioMDA.
