Mnemosyne: de Chirico and Antiquity exhibition features a unique juxtaposition between twentieth century paintings by Giorgio de Chirico and genuine Greek and Roman antiquities. This exhibition was curated as a first ever collaboration between Helly Nahmad Gallery and Phoenix Ancient Art, and designed by studioMDA. This exhibition highlights how the Classicism aesthetic has impacted twentieth century Modernism. Paintings by Chirico are paired alongside Greek or Roman marble, mosaics, bronze armor and Greek vases. These combinations articulate the source of influence in the Modernist paintings.
