The Innsbruck office building is a private development with designated spaces for shops, events, apartments and offices. The aim was to create an iconic building as an interface between large scale sports facilities and single family homes. Influenced by the morphology of a melting iceberg, the design of the Innsbruck building creates a visual and orientational connection with its surrounding topography. It creates a game between the perpetual changes that define nature and the clear strength of human rationality. The extended roof takes full advantage of its angles and cantilevers to create a natural cooling, climate control, and solar gain system.
