studioMDA designed a new residential building located on a 25’ wide by 95’ long site in Tribeca, a Landmark’s district. Compromised of three apartment units, the building is six storeys high and has a total of 15,000 square feet. Each apartment is a duplex with a spandrel panel on the façade acting as the demarcation. A bonus volume is extruded at the top of the building creating a crown. The interior design was coordinated with the facade to give every occupied space natural light, and the core and mechanical systems were designed to fit together with the care and precision of a Swiss watch. The apartment layouts are clean and simple with minimal circulation and maximum living space.
