Renovating a small, empty storefront space in central Istanbul into a multi-level gallery, studioMDA has designed a minimal space that preserves the dialogue between the pedestrian street and the art inside the gallery. By simplifying the storefront façade, the clarity of the interior space is easily recognizable from the street. Additionally, the simple lines of the façade embody the contemporary art inside. The existing stone veneer façade was updated with more neutral granite with simplified joints.
