The design of the kitchen is based on four principals:
1.) Movement pattern and “production zones”
2.) Space effectively dimensioned cabinets
3.) Contrasting finishes embodying a professional home kitchen with the atmosphere of an inviting living room
4.) The kitchen as a space to view and reflect on art, work and watch TV/DVD
This kitchen has become the central stage for professional cooking, catering, home cooking, family gathering, working, delivery, and has liberated and replaced the formal adjacent dining and living room. The balance between the contrasting demands of the kitchen and the “flow pattern” of the kitchen, have produced a multi-layered organized network of activity, inserted into a personal, yet professional environment.
